ON THE SUBJECT “ PERCEPTION”

I don't know the correlation between Sundays and inspirations but every Sunday I wake up with a word and something to talk about

Today I will be sharing on the subject
"perception"

Is the world black or white
Is the world fair or dark
Are you african or American

I think the world is NON.

It's not fair, neither is it black, neither is it gray

When you say the world is gray then you are saying its a mixture of what the other two parties think the world is

So you stand in the middle

I'm not saying you are wrong

I am just saying the world is what Mr A says the world is

The world is what Mr B say the world is

And the world is what you say the world is

And all of these perception is based on individual beliefs.

Our reality is based on our perception of what the world is.

We act based on our perception of what we think the world is.

We relate based on our perception of what we think the world is.

People behave in certain manner to you based on how they perceive the world and their perception shapes their judgement and their words.

The subject of perception is not only relational to how we view the world

It's also relational to how we see people

Our judgments are not neutral
Our judgements are always bias

We judge based on our perception of people

Mr A won't judge Mr b based on how Mr c sees Mr b

This is the reason why you will like someone and someone else doesn't like that same person

Two people can share same view about one person

It may not be 100% but they can share almost same thought about that person

If i feel a certain way about someone, whatever that person does will be judged from the way I feel about them.

People are always biased with their opinions and that is how the world is

You can't expect people to judge you based on how you see yourself.

This is why your sense of worth or love must not be tied to how people perceive you

You must be comfortable with yourself
Love yourself
Honor yourself even when people don't give that back to you

Does this means you shouldn't aim to be loved by people

No

It means you should be you, do you and do what pleases God and doesn't hurt humanity but also note that while doing that some people will love you and some won't and that is ok.

This line made me smile 😊

I’m back home from church and during service Pastor T ( I attend cci lagos, Nigeria) hinted on something that is so relevant to my subject.

Jesus was with his disciples and he asked them

Who do men say I am?

Some say you are Elijah
You are John the baptist
They say you are one of the prophets

Peter said you are "CHRIST THE SON OF GOD"

Before then, some people already doubted the ministry of Jesus. They said " is this not Jesus, the son of the carpenter "

Well they were not wrong but do you know what that perception of Jesus cost them?

It cost them an experinece, a revelation of christ.

They judged him based on his background and not who he said he is.

Now imagine Jesus self worth was tied to who people say he is

He would have second guessed himself
He would have thought " but its true oh, Joseph is my father and he is a carpenter "

No!

That wasn't his disposition

Regardless of who men said he was he knew he was christ, the saviour of mankind.

Now I'm preaching but this was what I was taught today in church.

Perception is a big topic.

How people see you affects how they relate, react, respond and interpret you as a person.

But regardless of that, never lose who you are because of other people's perception of you.

Now because we know how people see us matters alot, some people now live to please people.

They live so people can be happy with them, like them, they go out of their nature to want to make people see them in certain ways.

Trying to get people to like you is a trap.

Yes how people see you matters alot but don't force it. Don't force people to see you in a certain way.

Be you and you will attract the good sayers

the naysayers can do whatever they want to do.

I would have used the F word but I am trying to repent.

Be you darling. 💛

The sense of being ok regardless of the bias people have should be strived for hence you will constantly be in that place of anxiety, sadness and you can be easily tweaked and manipulated because you seek the love and approval of men

Now I may be wrong but there are certain people who will share same bias with me

I do not aim to be right
I am right In my own terms and world

How you see the world will shape your perception towards my own perception

And we should be fine knowing that we don't share same bias

I want to end this by saying

Not everybody will judge you right and you should be fine with that

Not everybody will value you as you think you should be valued and you should be fine

Not everybody will take you seriously as you deserve to be taken and that is totally fine

They are not bad people neither are they haters,
Well some may be

But they are just people who view the world in certain way and think people should view the world in that same manner

They are just people who think people should act in a certain way

They could be in the black, white or gray lens

We all view life from different lenses

And our views shapes our perception of the world and people

What matters most is that you consistently educate yourself so you can view life from an angle that is not detrimental, primitive and one sided.

Well this is my own bias on the subject of perception
